This Privacy Policy explains how the Yarm mobile app (“Yarm”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. Yarm is a recipe manager for Android and iOS.

Summary

• Your recipes stay on your device. Recipes, photos, and collections are stored locally. There is no account and no cloud sync.
• We collect limited diagnostic and usage data through Google Firebase to keep the app stable and understand how it is used.
• We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Information stored only on your device

Everything you put into Yarm is kept locally on your device and is not transmitted to us:

• Recipes you add, import, or edit (titles, ingredients, steps, times, servings, categories).
• Recipe photos and images, in the app's private storage.
• Collections and how recipes are organized.
• App settings and preferences (such as your theme choice).

This data is under your control. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it. Backup files you export are created by you and saved or shared wherever you choose — we do not receive copies.

Information we collect

We use Google Firebase to operate and improve the app. Through Firebase we collect:

• Analytics — usage events such as screen views, feature usage, and session activity, with technical information about your device (model, OS version, app version, language, general region) and a pseudonymous app-instance identifier.
• Crashlytics — crash and error reports, including crash type, stack traces, device model, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash.
• Remote Config — the app fetches configuration values from Firebase, sending basic device and app information so the correct settings are returned.

This information is processed by Google as our service provider. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's data disclosure.

Importing recipes from a website

When you import a recipe from a URL, the app fetches that web page directly from your device. The website's operator may see and log your request (including your IP address) under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store that request. We only keep the recipe you choose to save, on your device.

How we use information

• Keep the app working and fix crashes and bugs.
• Understand how features are used so we can improve the app.
• Deliver configuration and feature settings via Remote Config.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or share it.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to keep the app stable, diagnose crashes, and improve features, limited to diagnostic and usage data.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where consent is required for analytics in your jurisdiction; you can withdraw it at any time.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EU, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct, delete, object to or restrict processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact demontedev@gmail.com.

Your rights (California / CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

• Categories collected: identifiers (a pseudonymous app-instance ID), device and internet activity information, and general geolocation inferred from region.
• Sale or sharing: we do not sell or share your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data retention

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Diagnostic and usage data collected through Firebase is retained according to Google's Firebase retention settings and policies.

Data sharing and international transfers

We share information only with Google as our service provider for the Firebase services described above. Google may process this data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, with safeguards described in its privacy documentation. We do not share your information with any other third parties, and we do not sell it.

Children's privacy

Yarm is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact demontedev@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Security

We rely on your device's built-in protections for locally stored data, and on Google's security measures for data processed through Firebase. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be communicated within the app.
